Tamper-Proof.
Ground-Level. Ready To Ship.
Magnetics Design pad-mount transformers are tamper-resistant, compartmentalized, and liquid-filled — built for public-facing installations with underground cabling, from solar duty and data center designs to standard commercial and industrial service.
Built For Any Load, Any Site.
From solar duty and data center designs to standard commercial and industrial units, Magnetics Design stocks and supplies pad-mount transformers customized however your project needs them.
Magnetics Design tamper-proof, compartmentalized, liquid-filled pad-mount transformers are all-in-one units designed, built, and tested in accordance with the highest industry standards, including NEMA, ANSI C57, DOE, and IEEE as applicable. They can be customized with over-current protection and sectionalized switching to give you maximum control over your distribution system.
Common sizes ship from inventory; non-standard voltages, sectionalizing, and protection schemes are built to order with a firm lead time confirmed at quote.

What Our Clients Say
by Magnetics Design substations.
Advanced transformer solutions designed to improve power quality, reduce harmonics, and maximize system performance.
We were struggling with severe harmonic distortion on our main drive lineup. Magnetics Design engineered a 24-pulse phase shifting unit that dropped our THD well below IEEE 519 limits.
Brian John
My Client
Magnetics Design turned around a quote for a custom 18-pulse transformer the same day. The build quality was exceptional, and it arrived right on schedule for our shutdown window.
Felix Chou
My Client
The VFD isolation properties on these units are bulletproof. We source all our specialty phase shift transformers from the Magnetics Design team because they get the specs right the first time.

Questions Engineers Ask
What's a typical lead time?
Common kVA sizes and voltages are kept in stock and can ship within days. Custom configurations are built to order, and your rep will confirm a firm lead time as part of your quote.
What warranty comes with a pad-mount transformer?
Every Magnetics Design pad-mount ships with an industry-leading 3-year warranty covering materials and workmanship, with U.S.-based support for the life of the unit.
Can I get a Made-in-USA pad-mount transformer?
Domestic build and sourcing options are available for projects that require Buy America or similar compliance. Let your rep know up front so the quote reflects the right manufacturing path.
Do you offer transformer rentals?
Yes. Temporary pad-mount units are available for outages, emergencies, and planned maintenance windows, with staging and delivery handled on an expedited basis.
What's the difference between remanufactured and new?
Remanufactured pad-mounts are inspected, tested, and rebuilt to like-new electrical standards, and typically cost less with a shorter lead time than a new build. Each one ships with test reports.
Can a pad-mount transformer be customized?
Yes. Over-current protection, sectionalized switching, non-standard voltages, and enclosure options can all be added — tell your rep about the application and we’ll spec it accordingly.
How do I get dimensions and weights for a unit?
Outline drawings, dimensions, and shipping weights are available on request and included with every formal quote, so you can plan pad, rigging, and access ahead of delivery.
How is a pad-mount transformer shipped?
Units ship via flatbed or specialized transformer trailer depending on size and weight, with delivery coordinated to your site and a freight estimate provided with your quote.
Do you perform rewinds?
Yes. Our field service and repair team can evaluate a failed unit for rewind versus replacement and provide a turnaround estimate once the core and coil have been inspected.
How do I determine the right kVA rating?
Your rep will size a unit based on connected load, growth headroom, and voltage requirements — or you can run a quick estimate yourself using our kVA calculator before requesting a quote.
