Every load. Every voltage. One source.
From dry-type cast coil to substation-class power transformers, Magnetics Design builds and stocks the units that keep distribution systems energized — engineered to IEEE, ANSI C57, NEMA, and DOE standard, with quotes turned around the same or next business day.
Four families. One distribution line.
Each transformer type below covers a different point on the system — from indoor dry-type service to substation-yard power class. Open a page for full specs, options, and a quote.
Epoxy-encapsulated coils for indoor, high-density, and fire-sensitive installations.
300–6,000 kVA · up to 15 kV
Tamper-resistant enclosures for commercial campuses and underground feeder service.
25–10,000 kVA · up to 34.5 kV
Ruggedized units built for substation yards and power distribution line-ups.
300–160,000 kVA · up to 230 kV
Forms a stable neutral on ungrounded systems and limits ground fault current.

What Our Clients Say
by Magnetics Design substations.
Advanced transformer solutions designed to improve power quality, reduce harmonics, and maximize system performance.
We were struggling with severe harmonic distortion on our main drive lineup. Magnetics Design engineered a 24-pulse phase shifting unit that dropped our THD well below IEEE 519 limits.
Brian John
My Client
Magnetics Design turned around a quote for a custom 18-pulse transformer the same day. The build quality was exceptional, and it arrived right on schedule for our shutdown window.
Felix Chou
My Client
The VFD isolation properties on these units are bulletproof. We source all our specialty phase shift transformers from the Magnetics Design team because they get the specs right the first time.

Questions engineers ask
What's the difference between ONAN and ONAF cooling?
ONAN (Oil Natural, Air Natural) relies on natural convection and is standard on most distribution-class transformers. ONAF adds fans that engage under heavier load, letting the same core and coil carry more kVA without a larger frame.
Do you carry remanufactured or used transformers?
Yes. Remanufactured units are inspected, tested, and rebuilt to like-new electrical standards, and typically cost less than a new build with a shorter lead time. Each one ships with test reports.
What's a typical lead time?
Common kVA sizes and voltages are kept in stock and can ship within days. Custom configurations are built to order, and your rep will give you a firm lead time as part of your quote.
What's your return and exchange policy?
Stock units can generally be returned or exchanged within a set window if they haven’t been installed or energized; custom-built units are non-returnable once production starts.
Can I get a Made-in-USA transformer?
Domestic build and sourcing options are available for projects that require Buy America or similar compliance. Let your rep know up front so the quote reflects the right manufacturing path.
